# 1. The best sales are at the back of the stores....or set aside on specific racks in departments, and sometimes the store basements. Check these racks for possibilities first.
#2. Keep a list going of items you really need. Use your smart phone or a note pad
in your purse. Defining your needs often leads you to view ads with more clarity.
#3. Two for one sales work well if you ALWAYS use that product. But if you have never tried it before, you are taking a chance you will like it.
#4. Make it a habit to not purchase extra items at check out counters or end aisles.
#5. We notice re-stored products are on sale in Best Buy, Amazon.com and several other stores. Often these are returned items, just as good as new - at a huge discount.
#6. Read the weekly ads. We do try to provide you with a Wednesday Blog with some help, but their are hundreds of local ads.
7. Do coupons really save you money? Yes, if the company has a good reputation.
8. Do online auctions save you money? We hear, it is awesome, but online--time consuming. The best suggestion here is to find them from: Amazon, E-Bay,
Qui Bids & Government Auctions to Webstore.com. Be aware that shipping costs can be OVER what you pay for the item. Amazon has everything, and often pays shipping.
9. Great buys & sales are often done on Craigs' List, But an ounce of caution on letting someone come into your home - or you going to theirs. Be public in your purchase or sale of an item....for your safety.
10. Garage Sales & Estate Sales - are gems, but very difficult to look for specific items you really need. These do not come with "return guarantees, nor delivery, nor does it really work guarantees.
11. There are specific times of year when items "really go on sale"....so watch for these. We outlined these in a prior blog.
12. Set rules on how much you must save on items. We know some things are marked up 100% in stores. So set a rule of 30% 40% or 50% - or more to save...Follow your rules. The savings go into your pocket.
#13. Even the thrift shops offer amazing sales on specific days or a clearance day according to the seasons. Shopping a thrift shop will give you new and nearly new items - often with top labels found on the racks.
#14. If you like to travel, last minute deals can save over half on a trip. VacationsToGo.com has a 90 day discount area where you can save 50 to 75%.
